Most of my tone models are created without a cabinet. The reason for this is that it gives a more accurate representation of the amplifier. Whether you use the tone model and add a cabinet of your choice, or plug your Tonex pedal into the effects return of your guitar amplifier and use it without a cabinet model, you will get closer to the true sound and feel of the amplifier than if I had created the tone model captured through a speaker.
My tone models are created running the amps at gig levels and using a speaker as a load though the amp only models are fed the signal directly from the speaker output of the amplifier before it is sent to the speaker. All tone controls including resonance and presence are at 12:00 unless otherwise noted.
